In order to avoid a long waiting time, at least that is what I thought, I arrived at Wahaca in Covent Garden at around 5 o’clock last Saturday evening. Despite arriving early, it turned out that the restaurant was already crowded, and we had to wait for almost an hour prior to getting a table. The waiting time was not that bad, as it gave you some time to enjoy a couple of Frozen Margaritas in the bar.
Once seated, service was very swift and efficient, and it reminded me very much of the sort of service you get at Wagamama – which probably is not worth waiting over an hour for. On the other hand the food had above average standard, and I really enjoyed the Chicken Mole Poblano. However, as for the tacos I do prefer the ones from Chipotle, and as for a night out of Mexican food, I still believe that Crazy Homies is the number one spot in London.
All in all, Wahaca would be a great place for a quick eat, if it just wasn’t for the long wait in order to get a table, and as mentioned above I recommend Chipotle for a quick bite, and Crazy Homies for a proper meal.
