For anyone who was shattered when Spaccanapoli by Tottenham Court Road closed due to the crossrail project last year, Santore' is run by the same people - this time in exmouth market.
I always think if you're going to a place claimed by many to be the best Italian style pizzas in London, I think you have to try the Margherita, or even better Margherita with Buffalo Mozzarella - or as they call it at Santore', the Bufalina. This one was really good - especially the tomato sauce they use on the pizza, probably the best in town. If you're looking for the thin and crispy type, it might disappoint (suggest you go to Stori Deli in Shoreditch for that) - but for true Italian pizza, this is pretty close. We also had a Toscana - peppers, artichokes and incredible salami which was a great combination.
This is definitely one of the best pizzas in London. I think Stori Deli is the best non-Italian pizza (thin, almost crisp bread like), and for real Italian pizza, its a tough call between this and Fratelli la Bufala in Hampstead Heath. Jaguar Shoes/Due Sardi in Shoreditch is also really good and definitely has the best atmosphere, especially if you're after a more bar/restaurant type vibe and having drinks.
Next time I go back to Santore, I'll get more people together and go for the Metre long pizza option - which is basically 4 different pizzas together on a long wooden board - much more fun for sharing...
