Last night was a big day for me, as I went to the soft opening of the first ever Kua Aina in Europe. The place is due to open for trading within the coming days, and it will definitely be added to my choice of restaurants for lunch while I’m at work, or for a quick bite after work. As the restaurant has not opened officially, the menu was limited to Chicken Teriyaki, Mahi Mahi and Beef Burgers.
As we were there to sample the food, we ordered one of each. The Chicken Teriyaki was with pineapple served on toast, and it was really fresh and the salad tasted really fresh. The burger was served with bacon and avocado and was served on a soft bun which is a bit sweeter than normal buns used for burgers. The burger was delicious as well, and you could really taste that it had been made freshly made with high quality beef. Although both the burger and the chicken were excellent, I think the highlight was really the Mahi-Mahi sandwich, pictured above. The taste of Mahi-Mahi is somewhat like a mix of swordfish and tuna, and the marinade was amazing. So this sandwich will probably be my preferred choice.
For dessert we had frozen yogurt and an assortment of organic cakes. As I was stuffed after all the food we had, it was only room to test the Carrot Cake, and it was delicious - just a shame that I didn't have room for more cakes.
I really think that you should check this place out once it has opened, and let me know what you think about it.
