Alsace is in North Eastern France, on the border with Germany. This lovely little neighbourhood restaurant was on the wine route - where we ordered a load of local specialties. A light lunch this wasn't..
Choucroute garnie - Sauerkraut with sausages and boiled pork in white wine sauce, munster cheese (said to be one of the smelliest in the world) in a puff pasty and goats cheese wrapped in bacon salad were just what you need after a hard day working in the fields - except we didn't work in any fields.
