Costa Rican Gallo Pinto


During my recent vacation in Costa Rica, Gallo Pinto was the dish which I had the most times. Gallo Pinto is the national dish of Costa Rica and Nicaragua, as both of these nations claim that they invented the dish. Gallo Pinto is a mix of beans and rice together with accompanying sausage and eggs. I really liked having Gallo Pinto for breakfast, the one pictured above is from a small town called Dominical on the Pacific Coast in Costa Rica.

So if you go to Costa Rica or Nicaragua, you should definitely try the Gallo Pinto as it is normally quite tasty and rich of energy.
