The first time I went to Yauatcha was about 3 years ago, and I used to go there quite frequently around this time, however, it has been almost two years since I went the last time and expectations were high when I finally came back.
As for the interior and the food, not much had changed and it was just as delicious as I remembered it. The only thing that had changed was the service, which was better than previous, as I remember that the service used to be quite poor a couple of years ago. The dim sum pictured above are the Scallop shui mai, Char sui bun and the Spice duck wrapped in bean curd.
I'm a big fan of Joy King Lau and Plum Valley in China Town for dim sum, however I think that the dim sum from Yauatcha is marginally better than the one from Plum Valley, however, when it comes to more authentic dim sum, I still believe that Joy King Lau is in a league of its own.
My conclusion and pick of dim sum restaurants would therefore be the following:
Joy King Lau - authentic dim sum on a budget,
Plum Valley - a more price friendly option
Yauatcha - the full on experience with dim sum in a Michelin star restaurant
